This is how the burns look about 4-5 days afterward. They are starting to heal quite nicely, but still itch like crazy.
A blog with photos and descriptions of my various methods of self-injury that may or may not include comments on therapy, trauma, PTSD, depression, etc. Basically, it's a place for me to chronicle what will HOPEFULLY be my journey OUT of the trap of hurting myself and INTO new habits of choosing better coping mechanisms.
I know these are old pics but I hope you still attend therapy, and get medical attention to treat these. I hope you are doing well these days. I suggest instead of hydrogen peroxide, use Hibiclens skin cleanser on wounds to prevent infections, triple antibiotic onitments (like Neosporin, but there are cheaper knock-offs that work well like Natureplex), and keep the wounds covered w/ large, sterile bandaids or sterile dressings that won't stick to your wound. Try to change these at least twice a day. Aquaphor can help heal the skin once the burn is scabbed over, no longer weepy, and/or infected. Please continue to seek medical attention if your wounds are deep, or infected. It seems you have so far. Self-injury is an ongoing nightmare for so many people, you're not alone. Hang in there, from Silver Rose.
